Our program typically receives more applications than we are able to accept and admission is highly competitive. Although there is no one document, test or experience that will determine whether or not a student is accepted into our program, potential applicants should be aware that there are some key factors that influence our admission decisions.
The application deadline is always December 1st, nine months prior to the Fall term when students enter the program. Further, students become involved in research during their first semester and continue their research while they complete required and elective courses. For this reason, only individuals able to work full-time toward the doctorate should apply.

After Initial Review of Application
Top applicants will be interviewed via Skype (or in some cases by phone) by two to three faculty members. One of the faculty members will be the applicants' potential advisor. The purpose of the Skype interview is to give applicants an opportunity to further gauge their “fit” with our program by talking directly to varied faculty
