The UGS facilitates a Professional Development Program to assist students in their career development by serving as a gateway to campus resources and providing direct services.
Financial assistance services are available through the Office of Financial Aid. Legal aid services are also available.
Students with young children may take advantage of the on-campus pre-K Children’s Creative Learning Center.
Students learn about this rich variety of services in several ways. First, all students receive a Welcome Package prior to their arrival. This package contains information about their financial package and orientation. Second, all students participate in a mandatory department orientation the week before classes begin, with information related to financial package (tuition waiver, stipend, health insurance), introduction to teaching assistantships, degree requirements and procedures, and overview of campus resources. Third, the UGS website is rich with resources. Finally, information for many of these services is also available in the Department of Psychology Graduate Student Guide.
